Boddingtons

New South Wales Corps embarked to the Colony aboard Boddingtons. Departed Cork 15 February, arrived at Port Jackson 7th August 1793. Rank & File mostly joined from Savoy Prison. Capt Kent to Nepean from the Cove of Cork 6th Feb 1793 “One soldier has deserted since our arrival here. They are a very troublesome lot and require more looking after than the convicts” Pte John Watts of East Lothian, who joined from the Savoy prison, had conspired to mutiny with several convicts and was to be kept in irons until arrival at Port Jackson

Sugar Cane

NSW Corps arrived in the Colony per Sugar Cane. Departed the Downs Plymouth 16 Feb 1793 for Cork. Departed Cork 12 April 1793, arrived at Port Jackson 17th September 1793. List and ranks per Surgeon David Wake Bell’s report prior to departure 8th Feb 1793 and a Jun-Dec 1792 NSW Corps Detachment Return. The detachment of Corps was extremely troubled, not only by illness amongst several but also with Ptes Samuel Stanton and Thomas McGinnis reported at Plymouth on 16th Feb 1793 as unfit due to riotous and mutinous behavior and requested by Capt Mulgrave to be removed from the ship. Four other soldiers deserted ship prior to leaving Plymouth and replacments were boarded. It’s considered that 22 men arrived in NSW aboard Sugar Cane
